Hi there, Delaney here! I am the owner and sole operator of Cherry Bomb Skates!

The shop started as a dream years ago when I began playing roller derby in 2018. I learned in order for a skater to get a really nice, quality set up, we’d have to drive at least one state over. I didn’t get serious about the idea for the shop until a few years ago when I had a “now or never” moment.

I began doing research and learning what I thought could do well in Wichita and sustain itself. Wichita has 3 roller rinks, a handful of skate parks, a roller derby team, adult skate every Friday… It felt like the right time for our city to have a roller skate dedicated shop.
The shop has always felt like its own entity, I just run the place. I am thrilled to see where the shop goes and see it grow as our skate community continues to grow as well.

I will always advocate to shine more light on our skate community here in Wichita. In 2024 I hosted a project called "The Locals" in which we had a professional photographer come out to Carousel Skate and take some beautiful shots of our local core group that shows out every Friday. Can't wait for another round of this in 2025!

I am the director of Wichita's roller derby league, Wicked City Roller Derby. It's been my privilege and pleasure to be a part of the resurrection of the league post covid. We've grown from a mere 3 skaters to 30 in just a few years.
My main skating dedication is roller derby but I dabble in it all. Park skating, hitting up adult nights on Fridays, casual cruising in the streets, all of it!

There are so many ways to skate, let’s find your style together!
Thanks for supporting a small business and dream!

All the love, Delaney (also known as Eva Knevil on roller derby days).
